Telemedicine |

In this web site, the term
"telemedicine" will mean the use of interactive video for patient
examination, diagnosis, and follow-up. Clinical telemedicine systems can
dramatically enhance access to care, quality of care, and even reduce cost – if they
are designed to simultaneously meet the needs of patients, physicians, payers and
institutional providers – and if the volume of use is adequate to justify the high
costs of installation and management of such systems. Few telemedicine systems meet these
qualifications.
